Ooof. That was hard. Day 4, I believe, was the hardest yet. It was nice to do it with the sunrise though.

Mothership Todd Gets All Challenged (Day 3)

I did day three of my 30 day challenge at the park before ProtoPrimal Bootcamp. Ten rounds of ProtoPrimal Bodyweight Flow. My buddy Danny, who is also doing the 30 challenge, came out the the early park with me as well. Image

After my ten rounds. This either means I did ten rounds or “no mas.” Danny ended up doing 11 rounds. Animal.

Side planking it. 1/3 of the way through a round of ProtoPrimal Bodyweight Flow. One interesting thing about doing the flow in a public place is the curiosity factor. Many looks from folks who seem intrigued by the movements.

Feeling pretty good after all of that. I’m pretty tired, but I expected it for the first week or so. On to tomorrow’s flow.

Ah, spring is here and I have decided to do a self-imposed 30 day challenge where I will perform the ProtoPrimal Bodyweight Flow 10 times a day. The end result of the daily flow will be 60 pull ups alternating days, 120 squats, 120 push ups, 120 donkey kicks, 120 monkeys, 60 mountain climbers. I am going to document with before and after pics.

A little background. I am a 47 year old guy with hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s). I eat pretty much paleo and always gluten free. Because of my thyroid condition, I weight tends to stick to my bones a little more than your average person. For the duration of my challenge I’ll be following a stricter diet. The idea I have and the idea I’m hoping to prove is that solely through body weight exercise you can achieve a pretty high level of fitness. I’ll do a joint mobility warm up and a warm down daily. I’m not necessarily as concerned with weight loss as I am with a reduction in percentage fat. I guess that’s code for I need to cut back on a little weight. Here goes nothing…
